2. Beyonce Knowles. She's bootylicious, dates the powerful Jay-Z, and is one of the hottest R&B stars in music today. Enough said!
3. Paris Hilton. The socialite's trip to jail (thanks to a moving violation) caused a media frenzy and kept Hilton in the spotlight throughout 2007.
4. Lindsay Lohan. The young actress was on top of the world, until 2007 when her life spiraled out of control. Lohan was in and out of rehab, and was arrested twice. While she's now trying to stay on the straight and narrow, fans are waiting to see if she will fall of the wagon again.
5. Fergie. The candid pop star's career as a solo artist continued to soar in 2007. She won the American Music Award for Favorite Female Pop or Rock Artist, took home MTV's Best Female Artist of the Year award at the VMAs, ranked #10 on Maxim's Hot 100 list, and was named Blender magazine's Woman of the Year.
6. Avril Lavigne. The punk-pop princess spiked in search thanks to her latest album, The Best Damn Thing, which reached number one on the Billboard charts and produced two of 2007's top singles: Girlfriend and When You're Gone.
7. Hilary Duff. The pop star/actress had a rather low-key 2007. She wasn't arrested and didn't go to rehab, but fans of the former Lizzie McGuire star still wanted to see what Duff was up to.
8. Akon. The hip-hop singer, best known for the single Smack That, found himself in hot water in 2007. Akon drew criticism after he simulated sex with a 14-year-old girl at a concert in Trinidad, then faced charges several months later after a fan said she suffered a concussion when the performer tossed a teen off the stage into the crowd.
9. Hannah Montana. Kids are crazy for the alter ego of 15-year-old Miley Cyrus. Not only is the Disney Channel's TV series wildly popular, but so are Hannah Montana concerts. The current Best of Both Worlds Tour was one of the hottest tickets of the year, with all 55 shows selling out in minutes.
10. Shakira. Whether she's shaking her hips, or her long curly locks, fans can't get enough of the sexy Colombian pop singer.
11. Chris Brown. The 18-year-old R&B singer/heartthrob has taken the music world by storm and is now acting as well. In 2007, Brown made his film debut in the movie Stomp the Yard and is currently starring in the holiday flick 'This Christmas.
